Helen Mulligan has rural roots in Brant County, and is inspired by reflections of those memories that she now creates in watercolours. For forty years she lived in the St. George area in a maple bush that provided subject matter for her paintings. Trips to northern Ontario also influenced her choice of subjects. Capturing nature with stormy skies, leaves turning colour, and trilliums in bloom creates a freedom of mixing colour on paper.
She recently moved to Paris where over 100 original paintings, both watercolours and oils, are on display at her home.
