Betty Johnson

I was born in Worcestershire England and emigrated to Toronto Canada at age 27. I took correspondence courses with the Ministry of Education in visual arts and also Prints without a press.

I moved to Rexdale in 1965 and joined the Franklin Charmichael Art Group in Thistletown. I studied with Bill Middleton, Eugene Maiese, June Thompson, Eugene Kruscicki and Hans Arbarda.

I moved to Brantford in 1983. I joined the Glenhyrst Art Gallery and had paintings in the Art Rental. I took workshops with George Lewis and Isobel Quick in watercolour medium.

I became a member of Brant Visual Arts Guild and have enjoyed many of their workshops with various artists in a variety of mediums. I have exhibited with this group at the Brant County Museum, libraries, banks, the Sanderson Centre, local offices and restaurants. I have had work accepted in Glenhyrst juried shows. I particularly enjoy working in watercolour and pastels.

Some of my art work.
